I've got a decent cuppa on my hands, but unfortunately the machine's performance is lacking in the hot coffee department. The compact version might be £25 cheaper elsewhere, but I think that's where you stop for me - no additional perks with the purchase.

On one hand, the machine looks great and is easy to use, which is always a plus. However, my experience has been marred by lukewarm brews, which I wouldn't call proper coffee at all. This isn't an issue with any other machine, it's just not what I'm used to.

The real kicker is the lack of a built-in cup warmer, which I was really looking forward to. Instead, you're supposed to simply boil hot water in the mug before pouring it over your grounds - it's not rocket science, but it seems like some manufacturers forget that sometimes.

If you're after a reliable, easy-to-use machine with decent coffee quality at an affordable price, then this one might be worth considering - just don't expect any special features that would set it apart from others in its class.

I've had mine for 10 years now and I'm still going strong, although it's finally broken down after all this time. My friends who own similar machines are quite vocal about their experiences with them, but I was hesitant at first due to the high price tag and lack of experience with espresso makers.

After some research online, I decided to take the plunge and get one for myself, mainly because I'd heard good things about Cookworks brand filters. To be honest, it's taken me a while to find my feet and enjoy making coffee from this machine, but it's definitely been worth it. The shop coffee at home has saved me around £3 per day, which is a nice bonus.

This machine makes cappuchino and other variants with ease, although I still have some trial and error to get the technique just right. It does take about 2-3 days for your taste preferences to adjust, depending on the grind of the coffee you use. My go-to choice is a good black Lavazza packet (strength 5), which gives me a smooth shot that's perfect for my morning brew.

I've had it frothed with milk using the machine and it creates a beautiful crema that adds an extra layer of flavor to the coffee. It's so easy to clean, too - I just pop out any stubborn bits and give it a quick wipe down. The only downside is that if you're in a rush, you might end up over-extracting the flavors of your grind, which can result in a bitter taste.

One thing I will say is that there's no substitute for practice to get your coffee just right - if you're not careful, you might end up with an unpleasant flavor. But if you're willing to give it a go, this machine has been a game-changer for me and my friends at home. We've all got our own preferences when it comes to making cappuchinos, but one thing's for sure - the crema is always spot on!
